There are no high quality clinical trials or standard of care guidelines supporting the preferential use or superiority of Aimovig relative to the preferred agents, Metoprolol, Timolol, Nadolol, Atenolol, Divalproex Delayed-Release or Extended-Release tablet, Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, and Venlafaxine ER. Therefore, the treatment with Aimovig is not medically necessary.
