The proposed treatment with Ajovy is not medically necessary.
There are no high quality clinical trials or standard of care guidelines supporting the safety and efficacy of Ajovy when used as an adjuvant to Botox. The clinical trial leading to the FDA approval of Ajovy excluded persons who were actively treated with Botox at study commencement. Therefore, the safety and efficacy of Ajovy and an adjuvant to Botox remains undetermined.
